David Jensen – A Biography
David is an accountant on the team at Humphries Associates, he worked here part time for four years and started full time in 2010.
His role at Humphries Associates is primarily to prepare financial accounts and transaction returns, as well as to work alongside our more senior accountants in other complex projects.
He is also the go to guy at Humphries Associates for maintaining our internal systems and accounting software.
Educational Background
David completed a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Management in 2008, and a Graduate Diploma in Business in 2009 at the Auckland University of Technology.
He is currently in his last year of working towards being a fully Chartered Accountant.
What are his interests?
David loves getting up early on a Saturday morning and driving out to Piha for an early morning surf, or spending a weekend at Mt Ruapehu hitting the powder.
As anyone in our office will tell you, David is also a bit of a fitness nut and enjoys getting out for a run or training at the gym.
Why does he want to be an accountant?
A lot of people have a stereotypical view that accounting is all about dull people sitting in dull offices punching away on calculators. This could not be further from the truth! Sure, the preparation of financial accounts and taxation returns is important (and required by law) but the most rewarding part of the job is helping people to use that information to grow their business or achieve other goals they may have.
Accounting to David is the process of using the financial data to create a more meaningful action plan for your business goals or personal financial aims.
David's professional aim is to be someone who can see further than just the numbers and who is able to add real value to your business.
