  • Our conduct is in accordance with the professional standards, rules and ethical requirements of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. Information we obtain during the course of our engagement is subject to confidentiality requirements, in addition to our obligations under the  Privacy Act 1993. We will not disclose that information to other parties without your express consent, except as required by law or professional obligations.
 
What we expect of our relationship with you 

General 
  • Open, frank and honest communication with us at all times. You need to let us know immediately of any concerns you have about our work together.
  • At all times you (and your team) will provide the honest and timely information we need to help you to achieve your goals.
  • You will make the time available to work on things you've agreed upon with us to work on within your business.
  • You are appointing us as your advisors and as such you agree to listen to the advice we offer - while we acknowledge your absolute right to accept or reject what is offered.
  • You agree to work with us to meet and respect the deadlines mutually set to advance your business. You also agree to advise us of the need to alter such plans due to circumstances that you cannot control.
  • You agree to be timely in your payments for our services making every effort to adhere to the due dates.
  • Once we have proven our worth to you and you are completely satisfied with our service (and only once this has happened) you agree to discuss other businesses you know well with us with a view to introducing those that would gain real value from a relationship with us.
 
Financial Statements

You agree that:
  • Each page of the financial statement will be conspicuously marked as being unaudited.
  • You will attach our compilation report when distributing the financial statements to third parties.
  • Unless otherwise agreed and specified, the financial statements will be prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • If you distribute the financial statements to any person without attaching to them our statement disclaiming liability, then you will indemnify us against all claims, actions, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable legal costs and expenses) incurred by us and arising out of or in connection with any action, claim or proceeding brought by any third party in connection with the services provided by us to you.
  • Humphries Associates subscribes to a policy of quality review to maintain the highest quality of product produced by our firm which in turn gives you the very best result we can achieve at all times. You agree to participate in the Humphries Associates Limited policy of in-house Quality Review. As part of this programme all of the major services performed under this Agreement will be reviewed by another Chartered Accountant within Humphries Associates Limited under strict rules of confidentiality.
